This year’s invited speaker,
Prof. Emeritus Michael Dermitzakis, presented a
highly interesting lecture entitled:
Aegean: the archipelago Darwin did not visit.
A
great number of collegues, members and friends of
the GSG attended this occasion. Highly touching was the presence of the
daughters of GSG’s renowned former President, Ms Eleni Sarigianni and Ms Maria Papastamatiou.

After the ending
of the lecture, the president of the GSG, As. Prof. Apostolos Alexopoulos
presented the this year’s, Invited Speaker, as well as the previous
years’s speakers, Prof. Emeritus Ilias
Mariolakos and Prof. Emeritus George Kallergis, with GSG’s honorary plate.
GSG wishes to thank its former President, Professor Paul Marinos,
for his generous gesture to fund the honorary plates presented to the Invited
Speakers.
